Question: What is a Peer Review?

In business (and by extension, in marketing work), a peer review is the process in which a work, whether it be an ad layout or a technical document, is reviewed by someone other than the author. This reviewer is not the author's manager or supervisor, but instead a peer. Instead of just giving a rubber stamp to a piece of work, this process does several things:

  • Sanity check
  • Typo check
  • Look for loose ends
  • Share knowledge to the reviewer
